Join us in Olympia for CASA Advocacy Day!
February 7th, 2017
St. John’s Episcopal Church
114 20th Ave SE, Olympia, WA
9:30 – 4:00 PM
We need your help to explain to the legislature why CASA volunteers are a vital part of ensuring children’s best interests are heard in dependency!
Every year, WaCASA hosts Advocacy Day – a time to meet in Olympia and tell your policy and budget makers about what’s important to YOU! The past few years have been difficult for our state, and this year is gearing up to be an even greater challenge – as the legislature begins to pare back our already sparse state budget, they’re going to have to make some difficult decisions.
How does Advocacy Day work?
1. You register.
2. See if any other CASA have already scheduled appointments with legislators for the day. If not, contact your district’s legislators and tell them that you want a 5-10 minute meeting on February 7th to discuss CASA.
(Not sure who your legislators are? click here.)
3. Drop an email to email@example.com to let us know when and with whom you’ve scheduled appointments.
4. Join us in the morning of February 7th at St. John’s Episcopal Church for a morning program where we’ll discuss the current legislative environment, learn effective strategies on how and what to say your legislator. We’ll then have lunch (Free!) and…
5. Walk to the Capitol to meet with our legislators!
